Ely Road at Dusk

oil on aluminum panel, 6" x 6"

This little landscape painting is a loose interpretation of a view from Denman Ranch to a knoll that Ely Road cuts through.  I wanted to paint that pink sky I saw over Ely Road a while back, and I particularly like the color pairing of that light magenta sky with the neon light green in the foreground.

Denman Silo with Grapevines

acrylic on panel, 9" x 12"

Last year at Christmastime, I painted the one remaining old vine at Denman Ranch and donated it to the owner, Ulysses Torassa.  This year, I've painted the silo for her from a photo I had taken in 2014, before these vines were removed.  It was a charming visage, and while I'm sad the vines are no longer there, the white fence with the silo and the roof of the barn visible behind it remain intact.

Rose

oil on panel, 12" x 12"

In addition to the many wild turkeys that roam the property, Denman Ranch recently acquired four chickens.  They all have names and are very friendly and approachable.  They also give us fantastic eggs!  This one, Rose, went missing for a short while but then was found and returned to the flock.  Whew!  They offer painting challenges as well, so I will be experimenting more with these beautiful creatures.

Roses of Robert's Barn

iPhone painting, 10" x 10"

I now have 20 paintings gracing the walls of the tasting room at Denman Ranch, most of them for sale.  I've also done a number of digital paintings of the property, which I hope to show as a collection at some point.  Here is one I did from my iPhone a few months ago.  Life now returns to "normal," where I can FINALLY get back to painting.  Hallelujah!
