This colorful night scene outside the Waverly Restaurant in Greenwich Village, NY was fun to do, as it was a fixture in my old neighborhood in the Village.  It's part of a series of urban night scenes I've been working on.  This one will be part of an Artists' Auction at Incline Gallery, 766 Valencia Street, San Francisco on December 5 from noon to 8:00 pm, with over 50 artists participating.  Bidding for this painting starts at $125, with a Buy-It-Now price of $225.  Get 'em while they're cheap!

The Overpass

This is an abstracted landscape sketch, an aerial view of a freeway I did way back in 2020 that I'm pulling out of the archives for possible inclusion in an upcoming exhibit in SF whose theme is Portraits of the City.  I thought it apropos to this theme, and on second viewing, I like it.  Sometimes, painting + time = pleasure.

Here's a little urban painting sketch that I did in November of 2022 that somehow slipped through the cracks.  Anyway, it is going to be part of this upcoming show of my work in mid-February, along with some other urban scenes, portraits and figurative pieces.

Urban Study - Chicago

This painting is the result of a workshop I took recently in urban landscapes with Jacob Dhein.  I may tweak it here and there, but this is pretty much as far as I can go with it.  I found the workshop challenging, but that's because this kind of painting is new to me.  I can recall only having done one other urban landscape before.  I've got another one in mind to do, which hopefully won't take nearly as long as this one did.
