Damsel in Distress

oil on panel, 8" x 8"

This little painting of a damselfish kinda captures how I feel right now, but I'm really happy with the colors.  Thought I'd jump in on the "ring" bandwagon while I'm at it.   I may tweak it later.

Seahorse Study

oil on panel, 7" x 5"

With this quick little study of a seahorse, I'm just playing around a bit with composition, color, and techniques, using various tools for mark making, etc.  I find the seahorse to be such a magical little creature.

Another World

acrylic on canvas paper, 12" x 12"

This is a study of a tropical scene that I am playing around with, hoping to adapt it to a larger composition.  Fish are fun to paint, so I'm betting I'll be painting more of them.

Bodega Bay at Dusk

oil on canvas, 12" x 24"

This is a scene of my new favorite beach that somehow escaped my notice until recently.  It is a wide stretch of beach with few, if any, beachgoers at any given time.  The golden hour is quite something there.

Algae-covered Rocks, Waimanalo Beach

oil on canvas, 6" x 8"

Waimanalo Beach is maybe my favorite beach in the world.  It is a gorgeous, pristine expanse of white sand beach on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.  I've been feeling a bit nostalgic for it, so here's a small memento.

Sunset at Secret Beach

oil on canvasboard, 8" x 8"

This is essentially a cloud study done from a photo of Secret Beach on Kauai, my favorite Hawaiian island.  Update:  I have uploaded a more accurate image of this painting, as the one I posted earlier today was too light.

The Cliff's Edge at the Pelican

iPad painting, 10" x 14"

This was painted from a photo I had taken while staying at the Pelican Cottage just north of Gold Beach, Oregon, earlier this year.
