Birds of Ellis Creek

acrylic on canvas, 12" x 24"

This is just a small sampling of birds to be found at Ellis Creek on any given day, a local wildlife sanctuary that I frequently visit.  On this particular day in spring and after a good rain, there were a number of egrets, along with the usual swans, Canadian geese, and even a great blue heron adding to the magic of the place.  I love Ellis Creek!

Shollenberger Pond

acrylic on canvas panel, 8" x 16"

This is a studio redo of a plein air painting that never got off the ground, and I like it much better now.

Shollenberger Swans

iPad painting, 10" x 14"

This was done from memory, after a visit to Shollenberger Wetlands on a magical day of swan sightings.  I am left handed, but I did this one with my right hand while lying half asleep in bed on my left side.

Swan Sketch

oil on hardboard panel, 6" x 6"

These swans are residents of The Swan, a beautiful pub alongside the River Thames in Walton, where Harriet's friend Mark was celebrating his birthday in August.  It rained all day, but that didn't stop us from partying outdoors.  Love those Brits!
