Bougainvillea Pond on Haidao Island

A beautiful orange pond with bougainvillea bushes I was enamored with on Haidao Island, a tiny island in the middle of Erhai Lake, with the city of Dali on the distant shore.

Yamdrok Tso Lake

Driving through the mountains of Tibet, the lake in the mid-ground is considered one of three sacred lakes in Tibet, loved for its turquoise color. 

On the Way to Shangri-La

This character is painted on the door of a temple on the mountain pass we traveled between Lijiang and Shangri-La in Tibet.  If anyone knows what this means, please tell me.

This painting is not for sale because it no longer exists.  The image I've posted is the washout of a failed effort, which, when I viewed it the next morning with fresh eyes, found it had an appeal all its own.  Sadly, I wasn't content with that and now the painting is irrevocably altered, and not for the better.  Roy would be ashamed!
